Description
In a fitting finale to the R129-generation Mercedes-Benz SL-Class a small number of Silver Arrow editions were offered for the 2002 model year. Inspired by Mercedes-Benz’s pre-war Grand Prix racers, each example wore distinctive Silver Arrow paint, complemented by unique black and silver upholstery, interior and exterior aluminum accents, special 18” six-spoke wheels, and a comprehensive suite of standard features. Celebrating the rich motorsport legacy of both Mercedes-Benz and the SL-Class, the Silver Arrow edition brought an added level of exclusivity to one of the world’s most iconic grand touring sports cars.
This two-owner, 45,000-mile SL500 is one of a reported 1,450 Silver Arrow editions built for the model year. Its 5.0L M113 V8 sends 302 hp to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission.
Since acquiring this R129 SL500 Silver Arrow, the selling dealer spent over $12,000 to replace various sensors, seals, suspension components, and trim pieces. (A detailed invoice is provided in the photo gallery.)
This 2002 Mercedes-Benz SL500 Silver Arrow is now offered with a color-matched hard top, owner’s manuals, a stamped service book, a recent service invoice, a clean CARFAX vehicle history report, and a clean Pennsylvania title.
