Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 2002 Hummer H1 marked the final full production year before General Motors began transitioning the iconic military-derived vehicle into a more consumer-friendly brand. Originally developed by AM General for military use as the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), the H1 was introduced to civilians in 1992, gaining fame through its rugged design and off-road prowess.
By 2002, the H1 had evolved with more comfort and refinement while retaining its extreme capabilities. It was offered in multiple body styles, including the four-door hardtop, soft top, and wagon. Power came from a 6.5-liter turbocharged diesel V8 producing 195 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. The H1 featured full-time four-wheel drive, portal axles for high ground clearance, and a Central Tire Inflation System (CTIS), allowing drivers to adjust tire pressure on the go.
Despite its utilitarian roots, the 2002 H1 included luxury touches like leather seats and improved sound insulation. This Hummer, however, has been taken beyond that spec, with four high-back custom ISRI seats with a center bench; Predator snorkel, lightbar, and roof rack; and upgraded LED lighting. Method wheels with 37-inch tires finish the package.
