Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The fourth-generation Camaro hit the streets in 1993, powered by the torquey LT1 V8 that carried it confidently through to a mid-cycle refresh in 1998. While the early ’93–’97 models had a sharp, angular look, the 1998–2002 Camaro adopted a smoother, more rounded design that gave it a sleeker, more refined appearance.
But don’t let the softer styling fool you — lurking under the hood was hardcore performance. Just a year after debuting in the C5 Corvette, the highly efficient, all-aluminum LS1 V8 worked with four-wheel discs, a Torsen limited-slip diff, and a performance suspension to make the Camaro a formidable performer.
For the fourth-generation Camaro’s final year, two option packages stood out: the SS package, and the 35th Anniversary package. SS versions got a horsepower bump to 325 thanks to a less restrictive intake and exhaust, along with a special suspension and 17-inch wheels. 35th Anniversary cars got a bright red exterior with stripes, unique wheels and calipers, embroidered two-tone seats, and special badging.
This 2002 Camaro SS Convertible has been refinished in maroon paint, but it is a true SS with the 35th Anniversary package, making it one of only 3,369 built that year.
