The two Buick convertibles will be participating in the 2025 Hot Rod Power Tour, traveling over 1,000 miles and will be available for public preview throughout the tour.

Introduced as the top-tier variant of the C5-generation A6, the 4.2 Quattro was the first V8 engine offered in the A6 platform, bridging the gap between the standard A6 and the high-performance S6. This model was designed to compete directly with the BMW 540i and Mercedes-Benz E430, offering a compelling mix of power, luxury, and Audi’s signature Quattro all-wheel-drive system. 

Under the hood, the 2000 Audi A6 4.2 featured a naturally aspirated 4.2-liter V8 engine producing 300 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a five-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission and Quattro AWD, it delivered confident handling and strong acceleration, especially in adverse weather conditions. The wider body and flared fenders distinguished it visually from its V6 siblings, giving it a more aggressive stance. 

Inside, the A6 4.2 was richly appointed with leather upholstery, wood trim, and advanced features for its time, including dual-zone climate control and a high-end sound system. Safety was also a priority, with standard front and side airbags, ABS, and electronic stability control. 

Though produced in limited numbers, the 2000 Audi A6 4.2 Quattro is remembered as a refined, powerful, and understated luxury sedan that helped solidify Audi’s reputation for blending performance with all-weather capability.

Ownership History 

The accompanying CARFAX Vehicle History Report places this five-owner owner 2000 Audi A6 4.2 Quattro in Ohio since new. It was originally purchased on 26 September 2000 in Cincinnati and has been in the SugarCreek Collection since July 2018.
