When launched in 1989, the world loved the ‘NA’ Miata for its modern interpretation of the beloved British sports cars of the 1950s. Mazda would continue to further improve the Miata with the launch of the ‘NB’ in 1998. Trepidation abounded from the automotive press during the initial launch, but increased power levels and continual suspension tuning kept the Miata at the leading edge of fun and simple sports cars. The ‘NB’ continued to earn praise from the automotive press for its outstanding driving characteristics while the optional hardtop allowed the Miata to transform from a coupe to its natural form as an airy convertible - the perfect car for any occasion. 

RADwood Ready

RADwood is a festival that focuses on the culture and vehicles of the 1980s and 1990s. RADwood, and the “RADwood Era” are now commonly used to reference this period of bodacious automotive history.

Hagerty took stewardship of RADwood in March of 2022 to build on the company’s purpose to save driving and car culture while expanding and supporting inspiring experiences for automotive enthusiasts.

Ownership History

The accompanying CARFAX Vehicle History Report indicates that this MX-5 Miata was purchased new in Ohio and remained with the original owner for nine years. The car passed through three more owners in the Cleveland, Ohio area, before it was purchased by the current owner with just under 36,000 miles in 2015.
