Description

The fourth-generation Z28 launched in 1993, and its torquey LT1 proudly carried it to Camaro’s mid-cycle refresh in 1998. Compared to the angular ’93-’97 version, the new Z28 featured a rounder, softer design that gave it a more sophisticated look.

But that softness definitely didn’t carry over to the engine bay. Because one year after it debuted in the C5 Corvette, the 5.7-liter LS1 engine made the already-fast Z28 even faster. The all-aluminum, pushrod LS1 was efficient, smooth, and incredibly reliable, thanks to intelligent design elements like six-bolt main bearing caps. And its high-lift roller camshaft, high-flow heads, and efficient intake and exhaust made incredible top-end power, thrusting an auto-trans Z28 to a 5.2-second run to 60, and a mid-13-second quarter mile. Combined with a performance suspension that competently handled the live rear axle and powerful anti-lock brakes, the LS1 Z28 was the best bang-for-your-buck performance bargain in America.

This 1999 Camaro Z28 stands out with the Sport Appearance Package, silver paint, and a gray leather interior. And it has only had a single owner since new!
