The 1998 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra marked the final year of the SN95 Cobra before the New Edge redesign. Developed by Ford’s Special Vehicle Team (SVT), the '98 Cobra continued the legacy of high-performance Mustangs with a refined 4.6-liter DOHC V8 engine producing 305 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. The engine was hand-assembled at Ford’s Romeo Engine Plant and mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

Visually, the 1998 Cobra retained the aggressive styling cues of its predecessors, including unique front and rear fascias, a rear spoiler, and signature 17-inch wheels. It was available in several colors, with Chrome Yellow and Bright Atlantic Blue being exclusive to that year. Inside, it featured leather-trimmed sport seats and white-dial gauges.

The 1998 SVT Cobra remains a sought-after model among enthusiasts for its blend of classic Mustang styling and SVT-tuned performance. Ford reportedly produced 8,654 SVT Cobras for the 1998 model year, of which 3,480 were convertibles. This convertible is finished in Bright Atlantic Blue and has been modified with a lowered suspension, aftermarket headlights, and a JVC CD stereo.

The consigner reports, “The car was professionally lowered about one inch before I purchased it, giving it a sportier stance without compromising ride quality.”
