Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
While its Japanese Domestic Market sibling — the Mitsubishi GTO — was battling Skylines in the land of the rising sun, the Mitsubishi 3000GT was raising eyebrows in America. With intakes and spoilers built into its sensuous body, the 3000GT was one of the most visually striking sports cars of the 1990s. And while the twin-turbo, all-wheel-drive, active-aero, four-wheel-steer VR-4 version got much of the publicity (and lots of repair bills), the 3000GT SL was a simpler, more comfortable, and more reliable grand tourer.
The SL still wore many VR-4 parts, including a fully independent strut/multilink coil spring suspension and power rack-and-pinion steering. And its overbuilt, 3.0-liter V6 was also similar, equipped with 24 valves actuated by dual overhead cams. That naturally aspirated mill revved to 7,000 rpm, and passed 222 horses through a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. But the SL’s best selling points were its luxury appointments: a supple ride from the VR-4’s sophisticated electronic dual-mode shocks, and a high-end interior featuring a premium audio system, power accessories, and comfortable sport seats available in leather.
This 1995 3000GT SL wears deep black paint and a tan leather interior, and has been upgraded with 17-inch chrome wheels, performance tires, and a powerful aftermarket audio system.
