Description
Richard McAdam, known as “Doc” to his friends and family, epitomizes "work hard, play hard." Born and raised in rural Appalachia, Doc went on to become a renowned neurosurgeon in Virginia. Patients could regularly find Doc pulling into the hospital parking lot in one of his beloved Cobras or high-performance Mustangs. These cars were driven and enjoyed by Doc through the years, taking his family on back road joyrides on sunny day commutes. Hagerty Marketplace is honored to present the Doc McAdam Collection, offered entirely without reserve.

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
In 1994, the Mustang’s 30th anniversary was celebrated with the new SN95, a bold design featuring both modern lines and elements of the original '60s Mustang. Better yet, an all-new high-performance Cobra debuted, in Coupe and — for the first time ever — Convertible body styles.
As the Cobra Convertible was chosen to pace the 1994 Indianapolis 500, all were called “Indy 500 Pace Car Replicas” and included Rio Red paint, a rear deck lid badge, serialized dash plaque, and optional dealer-installed Official Indy 500 Pace Car door graphics. Combined with 17” rims wearing performance tires, the new Cobra was simply stunning.
Its 5.0L V8 stunned as well: This deep-breathing engine carried over nearly unchanged from the ’93 Cobra, and produced 240 horsepower and 285 pound-feet of torque. Backed by a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, the Cobra could bite: Car and Driver ran it to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds and turned the quarter-mile in 14.7 at 96 mph, reporting that the Cobra’s “improved breathing at high revs in the taller gears helped shave more than seven seconds off the GT’s 0-to-130 performance.” And with only 1,000 Pace Car Convertibles built, this was a rare performance machine to boot.
This '94 SVT Cobra Convertible was sold new at Center Ford in Newport News, Virginia, equipped with the Preferred Equipment Package. It now shows just under 79,200 miles
This 1994 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra Convertible is now represented at no reserve by a Broad Arrow Specialist with original purchase paperwork, an SVT Certificate of Authenticity, a window sticker, maintenance records, a convertible top boot, a clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report, and a clean Virginia title in the current owner's name.
