For Hagerty's first-ever RADwood Build Challenge, we tasked three well-known builders and YouTube personalities with finding and modifying their dream '80s and '90s cars and trucks into the most RAD builds they could imagine. The builds were led by Vin Anatra, Mike Burroughs, and Larry Chen in a six-part YouTube series hosted by Jason Cammisa, with the completed builds showcased at RADwood NorCal in Alameda, California on October 24th, 2026. Each competitor picked a vehicle reflective of their personality and worked within the same budget to RAD-ify their ride. They're competing for a winner-take-all $100,000 prize, split between the builder and the charity of their choice. RADwood NorCal attendees vote for their favorite build to determine the winner, and all three vehicles are being auctioned on Hagerty Marketplace with NO RESERVE. The GMT400-generation Chevrolet Silverado was one of the most capable heavy-duty pickups of its era, blending cutting edge styling with the segment's first truly computer-aided design and engineering. Built to handle serious towing and hauling duties, the crew-cab dually combined the practicality of four full doors with dual rear wheels for increased payload and stability, making it a favorite among contractors, farmers, and RV owners alike.
Vin Anatra is an automotive content creator known for his affiliation with Hoonigan as well as his car buying and selling YouTube channel. He was one of three builders selected for Hagerty's first RADwood Build Challenge, in which each contestant was given the same budget to buy and build a car for a fan-voted finale at RADwood NorCal. Anatra sourced this 1994 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 in an unusual Crew Cab Dually configuration in California, and subsequently modified it with a variety of rad-era inspired cosmetic upgrades.
Sourcing parts from flea markets, custom builders, and everything in between, Anatra added chrome 20" chrome Fuel wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle tires, widened dually bedsides, a Lund exterior sun visor, and a 4" steel cowl hood to complete the '90s-inspired custom look.
