The 1993 Mazda MX-5 Miata marked the fourth model year of the first-generation (NA) Miata, a lightweight, affordable sports car that became a global icon. Introduced in for the 1990 model year, the Miata was inspired by classic British roadsters like the Lotus Elan but with modern Japanese reliability and engineering. The 1993 version retained its signature features: pop-up headlights, a 1.6-liter DOHC inline-four engine producing around 116 horsepower, and a near-perfect 50:50 weight distribution.

In addition to standard trim, three upgrade packages were offered. The top-tier C package, selected by the original owner of this well-maintained ’93 Miata, included everything offered in the A and B packages, plus tan leather seats, tan convertible top, power windows and locks, and upgraded AM/FM/Cassette/CD stereo sound system with power antenna.

Ownership History

The accompanying CARFAX Vehicle History Report places this two-owner 1993 Mazda MX-5 Miata in Alabama and Georgia. The car’s Georgia seller purchased the Miata on 13 August 1999 with 72,365 miles showing.

The seller says, “The car’s been garage kept since it was purchased in 1999. Paint is in decent condition — it's a real looker from several feet away, but it does have a moderate number of dings, scrapes, and paint chips up-close. Upgraded tan fabric top with glass rear window has a few spot patches on the inside, but it seals well and functions perfectly—with no leaks. Would benefit from a new coat of paint, but it gets a lot of compliments as is. Pop-up headlights work flawlessly. Interior is in great shape. Re-skinned tan vegan leather seats are in like-new condition. The original tan carpet is in great condition for its age, just a few small worn spots. The original A/C blows cold. It runs like a top!"
