Description
The third-generation Camaro debuted in 1982, and thanks to its sleek styling, a host of options, and the 1987 introduction of a convertible body style, excited enthusiasts snapped them up in droves.
By its final year in 1992, the third-gen’s styling had been further refined. The RS package added Z28 styling touches like ground effects and body-color wheels, along with distinct badging. In the engine bay, a fuel-injected V6 or TBI 5.0-liter V8 provided decent acceleration, especially when combined with the five-speed. As the driver was banging through the gears, they enjoyed a surprisingly good ride on Camaro’s 101-inch wheelbase and capable suspension. And the cabin was comfortable, replete with supportive seats and a sport instrument cluster featuring a large speedometer and tachometer. Plus, Camaro had good visibility for a low sports car — especially when the top was down.
This 1992 Camaro RS Convertible is equipped with the optional 5.0-liter engine and a five-speed manual, and is ready to cruise in style this summer.
