Chevrolet’s newly redesigned fourth‑generation C/K series, known internally as the GMT400, helped redefine what a full‑size pickup could be. Introduced for the 1988 model year, this generation emphasized computer-designed aerodynamics, modernized engineering, and a more car‑like driving experience than trucks of yore.
The Sportside variant stood out with its flared rear fenders and traditional narrow bed, a nostalgic nod to earlier Chevy pickups. While most buyers opted for the more practical Fleetside bed, the Sportside offered something different: personality. Under the hood, the GMT400 trucks continued Chevrolet’s legacy of fuel-injected V6 and V8 powertrains, including evolved versions of the small-block V8 rated at 5.0 and 5.7 liters.
Painted in light metallic blue, this 1990 K1500 Sportside is a four-wheel-drive example powered by the 5.7-liter V8 paired with a column-shifted four-speed automatic transmission. It's well-equipped for its era with power windows and locks, cloth upholstery, and a climate control system with a digital interface. After spending much of its life in the southeastern U.S., it made its way to Nevada and subsequently Utah over the last half-decade or so.
This 1990 Chevrolet K1500 Sportside is now offered by the selling dealer in Nevada with a CARFAX vehicle history report and a clean Utah title.
