Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Introduced for the 1984 model year, the C4-generation Corvette may have been the biggest leap from its forbears. It was able to shed 300 pounds with the utilization of plastic body panels, as opposed to fiberglass, which was integral to the lightweight construction of the first three generations. Heavy use of wind tunnel testing and aerodynamic tweaking brought its drag coefficient down to as low as 0.34, allowing the new Corvette to cut through the air with ease. These upgrades extended to the engine bay, culminating in a new version of the L98 5.7-liter small-block V8 with aluminum heads that added tuned port fuel injection, shaking up the Corvette formula and bumping up horsepower.
By 1989, the C4 was nearing a mid-cycle refresh. Though the much-anticipated ZR-1 with its four-cam LT5 engine wouldn’t arrive until 1990, the 1989 model still saw meaningful enhancements. These included 17-inch wheels, quicker-ratio steering, Delco-Bilstein shocks, and reinforced front-end components, all contributing to sharper handling and improved ride quality.
This 1989 Corvette is finished in Black paint over Light Gray leather bucket seats with a digital dashboard, rear spoiler, and front wind deflector.
