The Suzuki Jimny is a compact four-wheel-drive vehicle that played a major role in proving that serious off-road capability could come in a remarkably small package. Originally introduced in 1970, the Jimny quickly became a hit among cost-conscious buyers looking for a capable off-road utility vehicle. The second-generation Jimny, designated JA, went into production in 1981 and found notable success in Japan, Indonesia, and Thailand across 17 years of Japanese production. In Indonesia, the Jimny JA was so popular that production continued all the way into 2018.

This right-hand drive 1988 Suzuki Jimny JA71 is finished in blue with a two-tone interior. Configured with metal doors, and an elevated roof, and rear safari windows, this Jimny is equipped with front and rear leaf spring suspension and rides on 16" steel wheels. Inside, it features a Dual Bluetooth radio, altimeter, and inclinometer. Under the hood sits a turbocharged 543cc three-cylinder engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. It also has a two-speed transfer case with locking hubs, and a rear-mounted full size spare tire.

This Jimny was reportedly imported from Japan to the US, where the seller acquired it in 2021.

This 1988 Suzuki Jimny is now offered at no reserve with a clean Tennessee title in the seller’s name.

The seller states, "Purchased 5 new tires after purchasing the vehicle and they do not have a lot of wear. New rotor, distributor cap, side marker lights and exhaust from the manifold back. Added a second speaker and replaced the Japanese radio (does not operate on U.S. frequencies) with U.S. radio (AM/FM, Bluetooth). "Driver's seat had about 1/2" of stitching wear out on the upper outside of the driver's seat and that is why the seat covers; no other stitching issues, but has remained covered since shortly after I purchased it. All seats are original, but the front seat bottoms do have some discoloration."

"Heavy rust on lower hinge of back door, but door solid, no flexing in the body. There are small amounts of rust randomly on the body, but not in serious condition or amount. A/C does not work, and I never had any diagnostics done. Rear defogger does not work. I am not sure if it was repainted, but it may have been as none of the branding is on the outside of it."
