Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Introduced for the 1982 model year in North America, the E28 5 Series combined traditional BMW sport sedan dynamics with increased refinement and technology. By 1987, the 535is trim added performance-oriented equipment including sport suspension tuning, front and rear spoilers, and sport seats. Frequently optioned with a limited-slip differential, its aggressive looks and sharper handling make it one of the most desirable non-M variants of the E28 generation.
Acquired by the seller in 2015, this 1988 BMW 535is is powered by a 3.4-liter M30 inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission and a factory limited-slip differential. The car is in Diamantschwarz Metallic over Schwarz leather upholstery and is equipped with sport seats, sport suspension, power-adjustable front seats, an onboard computer, and M Aerodynamics Package II features.
Modifications reported by the seller include BBS wheels, aftermarket suspension components, an updated audio system, and more as outlined below.
This 1988 BMW 535is is now offered at no reserve with some service records, a CARFAX Vehicle History Report, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.

Ownership History
The seller acquired this BMW in 2015. The CARFAX Vehicle History Report begins in 1993 and lists Pennsylvania, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Texas registration history.
From the seller: “This 1988 BMW 535is drives great and retains its original 3.4-liter M30 inline-six engine. All of the electronics function properly, and the car is accompanied by paper records dating back to 1993. It's not pristine, but it's not a rusted-out rat rod either. It's a real joy to drive and continues to turn heads wherever it goes.”
