Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The R107-generation Mercedes-Benz SL was produced for an extraordinary eighteen-year run, from 1971 through 1989, and the 560SL represented its final and most powerful iteration — arriving for 1986 with a 5.6-liter light-alloy V8 and KE III mechanical-electronic fuel injection that elevated output and refinement over the earlier 380SL it replaced in the North American market. The model's combination of removable hardtop, soft top, and a V8 that remained smooth and tractable throughout its rev range gave it a dual-purpose versatility that no contemporary rival matched.
This '87 560SL was sold new through Gurley-Leep Buick in Mishawaka, Indiana, and is finished in Arctic White (code 147) over Grey leather upholstery (code 278). A replacement soft top has been fitted, and the car retains a color-matched removable hardtop.
Chrome-finished 15-inch alloy wheels from a later Mercedes-Benz model wear Michelin tires, and the car features a Pioneer CD player.
This 1987 Mercedes-Benz 560SL is offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of the consigning dealer with a window sticker, manufacturer's literature, a tool kit, various spares, a clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report, and a clean Indiana title in the current owner's name.
