For 1985, Chevrolet updated Camaro with an aerodynamic composite front fascia to improve airflow to the radiator and reduce drag, while revised valance panels aided high‑speed stability. The IROC‑Z package—derived from the International Race of Champions spec—featured a lowered suspension with special shocks, higher‑rate springs, and 16” aluminum wheels with Goodyear VR50 tires for improved lateral grip. Powertrain options included the new LB9 5.0L V8 with Tuned Port Injection, delivering a smoother torque curve and enhanced throttle response. All in, the 1985 Camaro was a more precision‑oriented performance choice than before.
