Description
The new Ford Mustang, released in April 1964, marked the dawn of an American automotive icon, a sporty two-door which Ford General Manager Lee Iacocca said, “had the excitement of wide-open spaces.”
Twenty years later the exciting 1984 Ford Mustang GT350 20th Anniversary Edition was created to celebrate that landmark event. This special edition was part of the third generation of Mustangs, produced from 1979 to 1986. Ford manufactured a total of 5,261 units of the GT350, available in hatchback, T-top, and convertible body styles.
The GT350 featured a distinctive Oxford White exterior with Canyon Red interiors, complemented by red “G.T.350” decals on the sides and tri-bar Pony emblems on the front fenders. Buyers could choose from three engine options: a fuel-injected 2.3-liter turbocharged inline-four, a carbureted “High Output” 5.0-liter V8 with a five-speed manual transmission, or a new EEC-IV electronically fuel-injected 5.0-liter V8 paired with three-speed automatic. The GT350 was also equipped with power disc/drum brakes, power steering, and comforts such as power windows, tilt steering, and air conditioning.
Showing just 5,314 miles from the showroom, this GT350 20th Anniversary Edition Convertible is a time machine back to 1984 and one of just 587 5.0-liter five-speed convertibles produced.
