Chevrolet launched the third-generation Camaro in 1982 as a complete reimagining of its iconic pony car. Lighter, sharper, and more aerodynamic, the new model introduced MacPherson strut front suspension, rack-and-pinion steering, and a modern hatchback profile that brought the Camaro firmly into the 1980s. It was also the first Camaro to feature a four-speed automatic with overdrive and, in higher trims, High Output V8 engines that delivered improved performance and efficiency. By 1984, the Z/28 remained the flagship performance model.
This 1984 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is a time capsule, showing only 306 actual miles from new. It remains in highly original condition, appearing almost exactly as it would have in a Chevrolet showroom four decades ago. Finished in its factory black exterior with an eye-catching striped vinyl and cloth interior, this Camaro embodies the bold styling cues of the era. Under the hood is the High Output 5.0-liter V8 with a Rochester Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor, paired with a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.
Factory equipment includes air conditioning, AM/FM stereo with cassette, cruise control, tilt steering wheel, Soft-Ray tinted glass, power hatchback release, and factory 5-Star alloy wheels now wearing brand-new tires. A copy of the original build sheet accompanies the car, further verifying its authenticity.
With mileage this low and condition this well-preserved, opportunities to acquire such an untouched third-generation Z/28 are virtually nonexistent. Examples like this are usually found only in private collections or museums.
