Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Introduced for the 1976 model year, the Jeep CJ-7 built upon the success of the CJ-5 with a longer wheelbase, improved drivability, and increased interior space while retaining the rugged off-road capability that made the CJ series iconic. Today, CJ-7 are prized for their timeless design, rugged body-on-frame construction, and broad aftermarket support for customization.
Finished in Sebring Red over a black vinyl interior, this 1983 Jeep CJ-7 is powered by a 2.5-liter inline-four engine paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case. During the seller’s approximately 20 years of ownership, the cosmetics, powertrain, and supporting systems were refreshed, with reported work including a respray, a replacement wiring harness, replacement brake lines, Rhino-lined interior surfaces, chrome bumpers and hardware, and a replacement carburetor.
Additional modifications include chrome steel wheels, a Kenwood CD stereo, bumper-mounted trail lights, and an aftermarket steering wheel. The seller reports that the Jeep has not been registered since 2016.
This 1983 Jeep CJ-7 is now offered with a clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.

Ownership History
From the seller: “I bought this Jeep 20 years ago because I had a CJ-5 in my early 20s and loved it. Thinking I could relive those younger years, I bought this one on eBay. It came with a blown engine, an ill-fitting hardtop, and a long list of problems. I’ve had various people work on it throughout the years, but eventually I lost interest in the project. It has been garage-kept and has not been registered since 2016. I still start it and run it every now and then. I finally broke down and bought a 2018 Jeep Wrangler, so I need to sell this one, no matter how much it hurts.”
The clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report begins in 1992 and lists Florida and Texas registration history. The seller acquired this Jeep in 2006.
