Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

The 1983 Harley‑Davidson FLT Tour Glide marked an important stage in the evolution of Harley’s touring platform. The FLT, first introduced in 1979, pioneered the frame‑mounted fairing that distinguished it from earlier Harley models and set the foundation for the future Road Glide line. By 1983, the FLT retained its core design features, including the Shovelhead 80ci (1338cc) V‑twin engine, five‑speed transmission, and rubber‑mounted drivetrain for improved rider comfort and refinement.

The 1983 model year brought incremental refinements such as a lower seat height and stiffer suspension, enhancing stability and long‑distance ride quality. Production numbers for 1983 list 565 FLT units, making it a relatively uncommon model that year.

This 1983 example is finished in a blue and white two-tone finish with a custom single rider seat, lower fairing windshield, and removed rear cargo trunk. Acquired by the seller in April 2019 and now showing just over 50,000 miles, the seller reports that the engine and transmission were rebuilt in Fall 2019, and a basic service was performed in January 2026.

This 1983 Harley Davidson Tour Glide is now offered at no reserve with removed stock parts and a clean Tennessee title in the seller’s name.

Additional Information

From the seller, “It’s a unique motorcycle that gets attention every time I take it out. The light up eagle eyes are a favorite feature. It's loud, powerful, and turns heads. I’ve enjoyed it for years, but it's time to adjust my collection of vehicles.”
