1983 Avanti II

Description

Originally introduced by Studebaker for the 1963 model year, the Avanti continued production after Studebaker ceased automobile manufacturing, with the Avanti Motor Corporation hand-building updated versions through the 1980s. Retaining the original Raymond Loewy-designed fiberglass body, later Avanti II models combined the car's distinctive styling with General Motors powertrains and more luxury-oriented equipment. By 1983, the Avanti II featured V8 power, an automatic transmission, and a range of comfort amenities.
