Description
Debuting in 1978, the Porsche 911 SC — short for "Super Carrera" — was engineered to succeed both the 911 S and the Carrera 3.0. At its heart was a robust 3.0-liter flat-six engine. Thanks to the Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection system, the engine offered a blend of efficiency, reliability, and lively performance, propelling the SC to a top speed close to 140 mph.
Drivers could choose between a crisp five-speed manual gearbox or an optional three-speed Sportomatic transaxle. The SC’s rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout, paired with a refined suspension setup, provided the agile and responsive handling that defined the 911 experience.
The 911 SC’s popularity and performance ultimately convinced Porsche to continue evolving the 911 platform, rather than mark the end of the 911 lineage as initially intended. This 1982 911 SC Coupe is finished in Guards Red over black leather upholstery and features Euro-spec headlights.
