Description

The 308 GTSi arrived for 1980 as the fuel-injected successor to the carbureted 308 GTS, replacing the Weber carburetors with Bosch K-Jetronic injection to satisfy increasingly stringent emissions requirements in key markets. The injection system came at a modest cost in output — approximately 214 horsepower in European specification — but preserved the 2.9-liter transverse-mounted V8's fundamental character and the open-air Targa experience that had made the 308 GTS one of the most recognizable sports cars of the era.

This 308 GTSi is a European-specification example that was documented in Germany in 1991 before being imported into the United Kingdom in June 1992. Documents show that it was repainted from its factory silver to Rosso Corsa in May 2008 by Manor Garage in Ranmore Common, UK.

Servicing from 2004 through 2016 was performed at Ferrari UK, IMAT, DK Engineering — a specialist known for handling Ralph Lauren's Ferrari collection — Autofficina Exotics, IAP Racing, and others. A comprehensive 30,000-mile engine-out service was completed by IAP Racing in January 2016, covering seals, belts, and filters, with the exhaust system ceramic-coated at the same time. A Larini sports exhaust system was fitted in 2008 and remains on the car today.

The car was relocated to the United States in June 2009 and later acquired by the seller in 2019. It has been serviced since by Scuderia Performante in Malvern, Pennsylvania, with timing belts, tensioners, and accessory belts replaced in May 2022.

This Euro-spec 1980 Ferrari 308 GTSi is now offered with documentation since 1991, two binders of service records, a tool kit, and a clean New Jersey title in the seller’s name.
