The 1979 MG Midget marked the end of one of Britain’s most beloved small sports cars. First introduced in 1961 as MG’s version of the Austin-Healey Sprite, the Midget gained a reputation for simple engineering, light weight, and affordable open-top motoring.

The final 1979 model was the MG Midget 1500, which was powered by a 1,493cc engine derived from the Triumph Spitfire. Like other late-production Midgets, it featured raised suspension and distinctive black rubber bumpers added to meet U.S. safety regulations. While these changes altered its appearance, the car remained popular with enthusiasts for its engaging driving experience. Production ended in December 1979.

This example is finished in white with black pinstriping and a black convertible soft top over a black interior with vinyl upholstery.
