Description

The 1979 Lincoln Continental Town Coupe represents the final iteration of Lincoln's full-sized luxury coupes before the automotive industry shifted towards smaller, more fuel-efficient vehicles. This model epitomized the grandeur and opulence of American luxury cars of the 1970s, featuring a design that emphasized comfort, space, and a smooth driving experience.

Introduced as part of the fifth generation of Lincoln Continentals, the 1979 Town Coupe was characterized by its imposing size, with a length of over 19 feet and a curb weight exceeding 4,600 pounds. The exterior design included a distinctive grille, hidden headlamps, formal roofline with partial Landau top, and opera windows. Under the hood, the 1979 Town Coupe was powered by a 400 cubic-inch (6.6-liter) V8 engine, producing 159 horsepower and 315 lb-ft of torque, paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. The interior of the Town Coupe was a showcase of luxury, featuring plush seating, woodgrain dash, Cartier clock, and AM/FM/Cassette stereo.

This meticulously maintained 1979 model is all original and showing 31,425 miles, with documentation from previous owners indicating that mileage is accurate.
