Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1979 Lincoln Continental Town Car helped mark the end of a decadent era in American luxury automobiles. As the final true “land yacht,” it boasted colossal dimensions — 233 inches long on a 127.2‑inch wheelbase and weighing over 4,600 pounds — making it one of the largest vehicles of its time. Riding a full‑frame chassis, it offered a sumptuous and stable cruising experience, featuring independent coil springs up front and a live rear axle.
Under the hood was a 400ci V8 engine producing 159 horsepower, mated to a three‑speed automatic transmission. While ample for leisurely highway driving, it was more about quiet comfort than performance. Styling evolved subtly from earlier ’70s iterations: Signature formal lines took on Rolls‑Royce–style grilles, padded vinyl roofs, opera windows, and coach‑lamp B‑pillars.
This ’79 Town Car is finished in Polar White paint with a padded blue vinyl roof over Light Blue Luxury Cloth (velour) upholstery with tufted, pillow-style seats. Features include opera windows, woodgrain dash and accents, automatic climate control, cruise control, and power windows, locks, and seats, and a Kenwood four‑channel Bluetooth power amplifier has been installed.
This 1979 Lincoln Continental Town Car is now offered with a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.
