Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

The 1979 Austin Mini 1000 belongs to the Mark IV series, produced from 1976 to 1984, and embodies decades of evolution since its 1959 debut. For 1979, the Mini featured subtle refinements: interior updates, alterations to the front subframe, and availability of the 998cc (1.0-liter) engine offering 40 horsepower.

While largely unchanged in appearance, the late-1970s Minis retained their iconic transverse-engine, front-wheel-drive layout, and characteristic rubber-cone suspension, features that made them influential iconoclastic small cars. By ’79, over 5 million classic Minis had been produced, and their reputation as nimble, efficient urban vehicles was firmly established.

This right-hand-drive 1979 Austin Mini 1000 was refreshed by a previous owner and has been refinished in Flame Red paint with a white top and 8-spoke, 12” Superlight alloy wheels. Inside, the car wears gray cloth upholstery with patterned inserts on the seats and door panels, which also sport custom door release handles, pulls, and window cranks. It also has a Sony AM/FM/CD stereo.

The Mini is now offered at no reserve by the selling dealer with a clean Florida title.
