Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Introduced in 1976 as a longer, more refined successor to the CJ‑5, the Jeep CJ‑7 featured a 94‑inch wheelbase that helped improve its ride quality. Under AMC ownership, the CJ‑7 could be ordered with engines ranging from the rugged inline‑six to the powerful 304ci V8 in 1978, making it one of the most versatile Jeeps to date. The CJ‑7 retained traditional body‑on‑frame construction, solid axles, and removable tops, reinforcing its reputation for durability and trail capability.
One of the most recognizable option choices was the Renegade package, an appearance and equipment group rather than a separate model. The Renegade trim added bold hood and body striping, a steel hood with a center bulge, wider wheels and tires, and sport‑oriented trim.
This CJ-7 is currently finished in Sebring Red with an orange and yellow Renegade decal package, including large “Renegade” script on both sides of the hood as well as coordinating lower body stripes running along the rocker panels. Its 304ci V8 engine is mated to a three-speed manual gear box, and the part-time four-wheel drive system is controlled by a Dana 20 transfer case. The Jeep also features power steering and brakes, a color-keyed roll bar, and an AM/FM radio.
This 1978 CJ-7 is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean Florida title.
