Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The third-generation C Series Chevrolet trucks debuted in 1973, with contemporary “square body” styling that not only provided better aerodynamics, but also instantly endeared the C10 to truck lovers. New features included a steel ladder frame with an outboard fuel tank location, and while Fleetside and Stepside C10s could be had with 6 ½- and 8-foot boxes and 117- and 131-inch wheelbases, Chevy’s newest model was a heavy-duty, four-door Crew Cab body with additional seating and an 8-foot box, sitting on a 164-inch wheelbase.
By 1978, the tough-looking C10 offered an even more comfortable interior with deep-foam bench seats and full-sweep analog gauges, with options like cruise control, a tilt column, and power steering, brakes, windows, and locks. And while the big news that year was a 350ci diesel V8, enthusiasts chose the 454ci big block with a 4-barrel carburetor. So-equipped, it made the C10 one of the most desirable pickups on the market.
This square-body C10 Stepside was optioned from the factory with the 454ci V8 and the heavy-duty suspension. Now, it's powered by a modern 454ci crate engine reportedly with only 100 miles on it. The engine has been modified with aftermarket port fuel injection and headers, as well as orange-finished finned valve covers and a chrome air cleaner. A 3-speed automatic transmission utilizes a high-stall torque converter to send twist to a Dana 60 enhanced with 4.88 gears. The body is finished in black with red and turquoise accents, complemented by polished 15” rims. And the interior features red upholstery and modern gauges.
This 1978 Chevrolet C10 Stepside is now offered by the selling dealer with the original RPO sticker and new vehicle paperwork, and a clean Florida title stating "Mileage Exempt".
