The Mercedes‑Benz R107 SL made its debut in spring 1971, and for the first time in the history of this sports car series dating back to 1952, there was a V8 engine under the bonnet. By 1977, the SL’s 4.5-liter V8 was rated at 180 horsepower and was equipped with Bosch mechanical fuel injection and a transistorized electronic ignition.

This ‘77 450SL was acquired by the seller from its original owner in 2012, and it is finished in Astral Silver Metallic with a blue pinstripe and features a matching removable hardtop as well as a blue soft top and blue MB-Tex upholstery. A matching rear jump seat trimmed in leather has been added by the seller along with a RetroSound radio and Kenwood speakers, while factory equipment includes power steering, power windows, power radio antenna, fog lights, 14” Bundt alloy wheels, power disc brakes, and independent suspension.
