Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

Huntsville, Alabama — or “Rocket City,” as we know it — is home to NASA rocket-propulsion research and development. This special offering is once again a presentation of the unique, with American Muscle, British class, and heavy post war iron from multiple platforms all on offer. These cars are ready for blastoff, and all will be launched to new homes and garages as all lots are presented with NO RESERVE.   * * * “Whatever you want in a luxury car, Cadillac has it.” In 1976, the brochure was right: Cadillac had the only droptop built in America, the Eldorado Convertible. This personal-luxury statement was introduced during a period of shifting consumer preferences, leaving the Eldorado as the last American-made convertible of its era.

Built on Cadillac’s full-size front-wheel-drive platform and featuring a 126-inch wheelbase, the Eldorado Convertible’s bold, elegant styling was complemented by a massive 500ci V8 under its long hood that delivered smooth, effortless power. And Eldorado came loaded with luxury, including supple Sierra grain leather, plush carpet, cutting-edge features like automatic climate control, and power everything.

Cadillac built around 14,000 Eldorado Convertibles in 1976, many of which were purchased as investments and stored away. The finality of its production was emphasized with commemorative plaques and special badging, although convertibles would return to the American market in the 1980s. Today, the 1976 Eldorado Convertible is celebrated for both immense luxury and style, and as a tour de force in 1970s American automotive design.

This Eldorado Convertible was previously part of The George Foreman Collection. It is finished in Innsbruck Blue, and features an Antique Light Blue leather interior, blue carpet, and a Dark Blue convertible top.

This 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible is now represented at no reserve by a Broad Arrow Specialist in Georgia with service records and a clean Alabama title in the current owner's name.
