Introduced in 1965 as the top trim level of Chevrolet’s full-size lineup, the Caprice emphasized comfort, upscale features, and refined styling. By the mid-1970s, the Caprice Classic had become Chevrolet’s most luxurious full-size offering. The 1975 model year represented a notable milestone as the final full-size convertible produced by Chevrolet—ending an era of open-top American cruisers. Built on the B-body platform, the 1975 Caprice featured body-on-frame construction, improved noise insulation, energy-absorbing bumpers, and a range of available V8 engines.

This 1975 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Convertible is finished in Medium Blue with a white vinyl interior and white convertible top. Per the selling dealer, this Caprice retains its original paint and interior upholstery, consistent with its long-term ownership and careful storage.

Power is provided by a 350-cubic-inch, 5.7L V8 engine with a two-barrel carburetor paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. According to the seller, “The car was purchased new in August of 1975, by the Humpleby family from Don Warner Chevrolet-Buick Inc. in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and remained in their ownership until acquired from their estate by the current private collector.”

According to documentation and correspondence from the Humpleby family, the car was undercoated when new and equipped from the factory with deluxe wire wheel covers, Soft-Ray tinted glass, and the Four-Season air conditioning system. In the early 2000s, after becoming eligible for Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) events, the vehicle underwent light mechanical reconditioning of the chassis, brake system, and engine compartment to maintain drivability. The seller states that notes from 2005 indicate that the only known replacement components at that time included the tires, shocks, battery, radiator hose, and one air conditioning belt.
