Description
The Porsche 914 debuted for the 1970 model year as a joint project between Porsche and Volkswagen, with a mid-engine layout, a removable targa roof panel, pop-up headlights, and front and rear trunks. The four-cylinder 914 was initially powered by a Volkswagen-sourced 1.7L flat-four, and the 914 2.0 arrived for 1973 with a fuel-injected 2.0L flat-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. The 2.0 also added a center console with auxiliary gauges.
This 914 2.0 wears a refinish in factory Ravenna Green over a black interior with plaid seat inserts reupholstered under current ownership. The seller states that when the car was repainted prior to their 2022 acquisition, its door jambs, sills, and front trunk underside were refinished, and that the underside received a rust-inhibiting treatment. Exterior features include black rocker covers, black bumpers, a black front spoiler, gold badging, a removable black targa roof panel, and 15" Mahle alloy wheels with Cooper tires.
Service is said to have included rebuilding the transmission, and installing Bilstein shocks, stainless steel fuel and brake lines, a 123Ignition electronic distributor, and a Rennshift shifter and linkage.
This 1974 Porsche 914 2.0 is now offered with a clean Illinois title in the seller's name.
