Description
OFFERED AT NO RESREVE
The rarest of all standard-issue Z cars, the Datsun 260Z was sold in the United States for one year only. Featuring some minor interior upgrades and a larger-displacement engine, the 260Z offered more power and more amenities than the original 240Z, and continued to solidify Datsun's place in the market against the much more costly European sports cars of the time. Only 40,000 260Zs were reportedly built for the US (less than one-third of American 240Z production), making it an interesting anomaly for collectors and an uncommon sight at almost any car show.
This 1974 Datsun 260Z coupe was sold new at Foothill Datsun of Glendale, California, where it was purchased by the seller on October 6th, 1974. It has remained registered in California its entire life, where in the decades since, the seller began modification work and a cosmetic refresh. This Z is now powered by a 350ci V8 GM crate motor, which was installed in 2017 and is paired with a TREMEC T5 5-speed manual transmission.
The exterior was repainted blue in 2014, and the interior is trimmed in black vinyl upholstery, with the driver and passenger seats currently donning black seat covers. According to the seller, other upgrades include aftermarket struts and springs, wheel bearings, and a brake system overhaul.
This 350-powered Datsun 260Z is now offered at no reserve with assorted spare parts and a clean California title in the seller's name.
