Description

The C3 Corvette launched in 1968 with fresh Coke bottle styling, a range of powerful V8s, and a choice of Convertible or Coupe body styles – the latter featuring removable T-top roof panels. This new generation also delivered a completely redesigned interior with a lengthy options list that would help the third-generation Corvette set new sales records for General Motors. Exterior changes were subtle until 1973, when the chrome front bumper was revised to a body-color urethane bumper cover, which was joined a year later by a two-piece tapering urethane bumper cover at the rear. 1974 also saw the last C3-generation Corvettes produced without catalytic converters, as tightening emissions regulations required the use of no-lead fuel beginning in 1975. Truly an American icon, the C3 is favored by many as one of the most accessible and dependable offerings of America's Sports Car.
