OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Volkswagen’s Super Beetle, introduced in 1971, was a thoughtfully refined evolution of the iconic Type 1 Beetle. While maintaining the beloved rear-engine layout and classic silhouette, the Super Beetle featured several key upgrades aimed at improving comfort and drivability. Most notably, it adopted a MacPherson strut front suspension, replacing the original torsion bar setup. This allowed for a smoother ride, sharper handling, and a longer front trunk for increased practicality.
Additional enhancements included a slightly longer wheelbase, improved interior ventilation, and a redesigned dashboard. These changes made the Super Beetle more spacious and user-friendly, while still retaining the simplicity and charm that made the Beetle a global favorite.
This 1972 Volkswagen Super Beetle, equipped with a factory sunroof, has been partially refurbished and upgraded for spirited street use. With approximately $14,500 invested in mechanical and cosmetic improvements, it represents a modified and recently maintained example of the beloved German classic.
