Description
Introduced in 1966, the Ford Bronco quickly earned a reputation as a rugged, versatile four-wheel drive designed to compete with the Jeep CJ and International Scout. By 1972, the first-generation Bronco had evolved into a capable off-road vehicle while retaining its simple, durable construction. Available as a wagon, roadster, or pickup, the 1972 model featured a 170ci inline-six as standard equipment, with an optional 302ci V8 for increased power. Its short wheelbase, solid axles, and compact dimensions made it highly effective on trails and back roads.
This 1972 Ford Bronco is a running project powered by a 302ci V8 linked to a three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Stopping power is now handled by power-assisted disc brakes at each corner.
The body is refinished in red and rides on a lifted suspension, which accommodates 20” alloy wheels mounted with 38” tires. Additional exterior features include a black soft top and wheel arch extensions, LED lighting, polished bumpers, and a rear hitch receiver.
Inside, a roll hoop covers aftermarket seats upholstered in black. Other refurbishment details include replacement carpets, door panels, power steering, and power windows operated by crank-style switches.
This Bronco is offered with a black bikini top, a distributor, an owner’s manual, and an Alabama registration in the seller's name.

Ownership History
This 1972 Ford Bronco was acquired by the seller in September 2025, who states that “this Bronco is a continuous project that we feel is 80% completed. It had a complete interior overhaul including carpet, paneling, seats, seatbelts in front and back, as well as fitted floor mats. It also brings the aesthetic of the crank windows using the original crank handles as the electric switch for the power windows.
"It has a brand new distributor, but it's not installed. Needs the new ignition system installed to run properly. It has an HEI distributor with an internal coil which is older and overheats, causing the engine to shut off. The engine stays around 200 degrees and is not overheating. I have not had time to install the new distributor.”
