Description
As technology evolved, so did the BMW 02-series lineup, which introduced a mechanical fuel-injected variant for the 1972 model year. Powered by the proven 2.0L M10 inline-four, the tii featured improvements over the base-model cars including Kugelfischer mechanical fuel–injection, larger front brakes, wider wheels, stiffer suspension, and a closer ratio 4-speed manual gearbox. With power increased to around 140 horsepower when new and exclusive tii upgrades, the 2002tii holds its place at the top of the list for spirited driving enthusiasts.
Acquired by the seller in 2001, this first-year ‘72 2002tii is finished in Verona Red paint and features a black vinyl interior, 13” FPS alloy wheels, and early model-specific round taillights. The seller reports having the vehicle serviced at Wegweiser Classic BMW Services and Hahn Auto Restoration, two well-recognized shops in the Northeast region. Its limited reported modifications include a RetroSound Europa head unit with Bluetooth and an Ireland Engineering aluminum radiator.
The included BMW Birth Certificate indicates that this 2002tii was built in December 1971 left the factory finished in Colorado Orange paint.
This 1972 BMW 2002tii is now offered with recent service records, removed parts, a digital copy of the BMW Birth Certificate, and a clean Pennsylvania title in the seller’s name.

Some paintwork was performed in November 2024. From the seller, “The paint restoration accomplished two things. The trunk lid was removed, the dent was repaired, and the lid was reinstalled and sanded, primed, and painted. In addition, any "road rash" (chipped paint, generally around the wheel wells, but also the hood) was touched up.”
