Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

Ford’s second-generation Econoline series (1968-74) marked a significant redesign from the original models that debuted in 1961, shifting from a cab-over-engine layout to a more conventional front-engine, rear-wheel-drive configuration. This change improved ride quality, safety, and serviceability, aligning the Econoline more closely with Ford’s F-Series trucks.

The E200 was the mid-range model in the lineup, positioned between the lighter-duty E100 and the heavier-duty E300. It featured a longer wheelbase (105.5 inches standard, 123.5 inches in the SuperVan configuration) and was available in both cargo and passenger variants. The E200 could be equipped with a range of engines, including the popular 140-horsepower 302 cubic-inch V8.

The 1972 Ford Econoline E200 was widely used for trades, deliveries, and camper conversions, thanks to its spacious interior and robust chassis. Its boxy design maximized cargo space and reflected the era’s growing demand for versatile, durable vans, and its legacy lives on in the continued popularity of vintage Econolines among collectors and van life aficionados.
