Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1971 Jaguar E‑Type Series II Roadster, also known in North America as the XKE, represented the final iteration of Jaguar’s iconic six-cylinder convertible before the V12 era. Produced at Coventry, England, this model was part of a Series II run spanning 1968–71, featuring safety and comfort upgrades.
Under its long hood, a 4.2‑liter inline‑six delivered 246 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 263 lb‑ft. of torque, paired with either a four‑speed manual or three‑speed automatic transmission. The ’71 Jaguar received open headlights, full-width bumpers front and rear, and reclining seats.
The seller of this 1971 E-Type Series II Roadster purchased the car in November 2019 as a “retirement investment” while also fulfilling a life-long dream of owning “the most beautiful car in the World." The E-Type has been driven approximately 300 miles under his ownership, and it was garaged and covered whenever it wasn’t on the road.
A bare-metal cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment was reportedly completed under prior ownership, including rebuilding the engine — with triple side-draft Weber carburetors — and installing a new clutch, power steering pump and hoses, brake booster, exhaust system, convertible top and header rail, and tires. The car was also refinished in Signal Red paint.
This E-Type is now offered with some service receipts and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.
