Description

Considered by many to be one of the best-looking muscle cars ever built by The Big Three, the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle offered a more curvaceous and sporting appearance along with a thrilling driving experience teased in advertising with “The performance starts as you’re seated.” Although similar to other second-generation Chevelle models, the 1970 version boasted updated sheet metal and an improved interior which would gain favor among many. These cars garnered widespread admiration, earning acclaim in automotive publications for their power, distinctive sound, and authoritative road presence. For enthusiasts seeking an adrenaline rush, Chevrolet introduced the Super Sport or SS package for select Chevelle models, featuring their renowned big-block engines. Despite the fervent demand for muscle Cars, the pinnacle of this automotive era coincided with challenges such as impending emission regulations and escalating insurance costs, marking the zenith of an era that profoundly shaped a high point of American automotive history for many.

Considered by many to be notoriously difficult to verify, Super Sport or SS Chevrolet models with factory documentation to verify their original build details such as this example are particularly sought after by enthusiasts as they alleviate many of the challenges associated with verifying these iconic American Muscle Cars.
