Description
Introduced for the 1968 model year, the third-generation Buick Skylark featured revised styling and a range of available V8 engines shared with Buick's growing performance lineup. While the GS and GSX models represented the division's factory muscle-car offerings, the Skylark's A-body platform also provided a popular foundation for later performance-oriented builds and GSX-inspired tributes.
Reportedly acquired by the seller's uncle in 2011, this 1970 Buick Skylark Coupe was inherited by the seller in 2023. Modified in the style of a GSX prior to the seller's acquisition, the car is powered by a 455ci V8 paired with a three-speed TH400 automatic transmission and is finished in yellow with black graphics over black vinyl upholstery. The seller reports that a GSX donor car supplied various components used in the conversion, including exterior trim and appearance elements.
Additional features include a GSX-style hood and rear spoiler, hood-mounted tachometer, long-tube headers, electric exhaust cutouts, a limited-slip rear axle, and 17" American Racing Torq Thrust wheels.
This modified 1970 Buick Skylark Coupe is now offered with a car cover and a clean Massachusetts title in the seller's name.

Servicing
From the seller: "I inherited this Buick from a family member in 2023. He acquired the car in 2011 and was a mechanic who maintained and worked on it during his ownership. Since inheriting the car, I have focused on keeping it roadworthy and have not made any modifications or significant changes. Because many of the upgrades were completed before I acquired it, I cannot speak in detail to all of the modifications performed between 2011 and 2023. The brakes currently function and stop the car properly, however the brake warning light illuminates when the brake pedal is applied and should be inspected by the next owner."
