Description
Introduced for the 1967 model year, the redesigned Ford Mustang received updated styling with a larger body, revised proportions, and increased room for larger powertrains. By 1968, the Mustang had firmly established itself as one of the defining pony cars of the era, offering buyers a broad range of performance, comfort, and appearance options. Fastback models remain especially sought after for their sleek roofline and association with Ford's high-performance heritage.
This 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback was originally sold through Rice Ford and Holman of Merchantville, New Jersey. Over the ensuing five-plus decades, and prior to the seller's 2012 acquisition, the car has been modified with a 5.0L V8 and T5 five-speed manual gearbox reportedly sourced from a 1989 Mustang.
Refinished in Ford Tropic Green over black vinyl upholstery, the car is equipped with four-wheel power disc brakes, power steering, polished Torq Thrust wheels, an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, MSD ignition, a dual exhaust system, and more as outlined below.
This modified 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback is now offered with a Deluxe Marti Report and a clean New Jersey title in the seller’s name.

Additional Information
From the seller: "This 1968 Mustang Fastback is an enjoyable driver that also offers a solid starting point for someone interested in creating a Bullitt or 1968 GT tribute. The included Marti Report shows that the car was originally delivered as a C-code Mustang finished in Wimbledon White with a red interior. It is now finished in Ford Tropic Green, with the paintwork reportedly completed around 2005. I purchased the car in December 2011 in its present general configuration with the intention of building a Bullitt or 1968 GT tribute, but my priorities changed, and during 14 years of ownership I instead enjoyed it on occasional cruises and Sunday drives. The car has always been garage-kept and covered while in my possession.
The mechanical and body modifications were completed by a prior owner, and the car is being sold as-is. Power comes from a 1989 302 V8 paired with a five-speed T5 transmission. Additional features include an Edelbrock 600-cfm four-barrel carburetor, four-wheel disc brakes, an electric fuel pump, a modern fuse box, a non-original rear end, aftermarket Sunpro gauges, a Summit tachometer, a lowered stance, and 16-inch wheels. The heater, windshield wipers, and lights are operational. The factory speedometer reads approximately 10 mph higher than the vehicle’s actual speed, the factory fuel gauge is inaccurate, the turn signals require attention, the backup lights are not operational, rear seatbelts are not installed, and several minor fluid leaks are present.
Cosmetic imperfections include a paint chip on the driver-side rocker panel, imperfections in the left hood turn-signal vent, and incomplete paint coverage on the front interior portion of the driver-side door. The photographs are intended to show the car’s condition and visible flaws accurately. While not presented as a perfect or original example, this Mustang is a fun driver that offers its next owner an opportunity to enjoy as-is or continue developing into a Bullitt or 1968 GT-inspired build."
