1968 Ford Mustang Hardtop Sprint Package B

Description

Introduced as a limited edition appearance package in the spring of 1967, the Sprint 200 Option Group offered buyers the opportunity to outfit their Mustang with an added sporting flare including a body-side stripe, a chrome air cleaner, wire wheel covers, special pastel colors, a louvered hood, and bright rocker panel moldings. With changes to the Pony car remaining relatively subtle for the 1968 model year, Ford went the extra mile for the 1968 Sprint by offering two packages – the Sprint A, available on six-cylinder and V8 models, and the Sprint B, limited to V8 models only. The Sprint B shared the Sprint A’s C-shaped side stripes, wheel lip moldings, and a pop-open gas cap while substituting its wheel covers for styled steel wheels and adding grille-mounted fog lights. In essence, the Sprint B was a Mustang GT without the added cost of the GT’s four-barrel engine and heavy-duty suspension which proved popular with buyers and remains a handsome and sought-after package today.
