Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1968 Ford F-250 was part of the fifth generation of Ford’s iconic F-Series trucks, produced from 1967 to ’72. This generation marked a significant evolution in both design and engineering, blending rugged utility with improved comfort and style. The F-250, three-quarter-ton pickup, was positioned between the lighter-duty F-100 and the heavy-duty F-350, making it a popular choice for both work and recreational use.
Ford introduced several updates in 1968 to comply with new federal safety regulations. These included side marker lights, energy-absorbing steering columns, and dual-circuit brake systems. The F-250 retained its signature Twin I-Beam front suspension, which provided a smoother ride compared to traditional solid axles, especially under load.
The 1968 model featured a clean, squared-off body design with a bold grille and distinctive Ford badging. Buyers could choose from a range of engines, including 360 and 390 cubic-inch V8s. Transmission options included manual and automatic gearboxes, and both two-wheel and four-wheel drive configurations were available. The interior was mostly utilitarian.
An optional Camper Special Package, which the original owner of this ’68 F-250 selected, included mechanical upgrades like a heavy-duty cooling system, a larger radiator, upgraded suspension, and extended mirrors.
