Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1968 Yenko Camaro Super Car spawned from a high-performance collaboration between Chevrolet and Pennsylvania dealer Don Yenko. GM had a corporate ban on engines larger than 400ci, which Yenko promptly bypassed to create some of the world’s most desirable muscle cars.
Unlike 1969 versions that were ordered through GM’s COPO system, 1968 Yenko Camaros were created when the Yenko team swapped out a Camaro's factory 396ci short block for a 425-horse, 427ci L72 short block. Then, the original factory 396’s cylinder heads, intake, carb, distributor, valvetrain, and exhaust was reused on this new 427. An M21 4-speed backed the big block, and visual differences included 14-inch Rallye wheels, a dual-snorkel hood, spoilers, and exterior and interior Yenko badges.
Only a handful of Yenko Camaros were built in 1968, and they’re incredibly expensive now. Thankfully, tributes like this nitrous-equipped, 454-powered Camaro exist. Finished in black, wearing a Yenko-style hood and badges, and equipped with a classic-look Houndstooth interior with aftermarket upgrades, this Camaro can give you the full Yenko Camaro Super Car experience — without the astronomical price tag.
