Introduced for the 1964 model year, the Pontiac GTO helped establish the muscle car formula. The GTO paired midsize dimensions with full-size V8 performance and competition-inspired styling. By 1967, GTO models offered Pontiac's new 400 cubic-inch V8 engine, with buyers able to select from multiple performance configurations.

This 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible was delivered new to Knafel Pontiac in Akron, Ohio, a dealership known all around the world for its racing endeavors under the Tin Indian racing team banner. Powered by a 400 cubic-inch V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission with a Hurst Dual-Gate His/Hers shifter, this Montreux Blue-over-blue vinyl GTO Convertible was used as Knafel's parade vehicle. An included letter from Dan "Bill" Knafel written in 1993 notes that the car was used to promote the dealership and the Tin Indian racing team at events such as the Daytona 500.

Built during the second week of May 1967, this GTO left the factory with a power-operated white convertible top, power steering, Rally-style wheels, bucket seats, a center console, a pushbutton radio, and retractable seat belts. The car stayed under Knafel Pontiac and Tin Indian's ownership until 1983, and it was acquired by the seller in 2022. The car received a protective ceramic coating in the early 2000s.

No restorations or modifications have been performed during my ownership. It is equipped with its factory 400 cubic-inch engine, four-barrel carburetor, His/Hers Hurst automatic shifter, white convertible top, and replacement BFGoodrich tires.”
