Description

The Myers Manx is the original fiberglass dune buggy, designed by Bruce Meyers and introduced in 1964 on a shortened Volkswagen Beetle pan. The Manx's lightweight fiberglass body and cut-down VW floor pan produced a vehicle significantly lighter than the donor Beetle while retaining its air-cooled powertrain and mechanical simplicity. The design was widely imitated but never officially duplicated, and genuine Myers Manx examples carry authentication numbers registered with the Myers Manx organization confirming their originality. This example is certified as an original Manx and carries the authentication number on the body.

This Myers Manx is built on a 1967 Volkswagen floorpan and powered by a 1,915cc dual-port air-cooled flat-four fitted with twin 44 IDF Weber carburetors, paired with a four-speed manual transaxle with a Freeway Flyer gearset. The front suspension features an aluminum beam with dropped spindles, and the car rides on 15-inch flat-face aluminum wheels with 145R15 front and 275R15 rear tires.

The body has been resprayed in red and is fitted with a snap-on convertible top that attaches to the front and rear roll bars. Inside, you're met with black bucket seats, five-point harness belts, a B&M shifter, and custom dashboard. A Kenwood head unit and aftermarket speakers have been installed.

This Myers Manx is offered with a snap-on Bimini top, a Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean Florida title in the seller's name describing the vehicle as a 1967 Volkswagen.
